Whale watching in Australia is recognised as being amongst the best in the world due to the large numbers of humpback whales visiting the east coast, and Magnetic Island is lucky enough to get plenty of that action.

Humpback whales are the fifth largest family of whales in the world & they seem to love playing in the warm, calm waters surrounding Magnetic Island. Humpback whales migrate between their Antarctic feeding grounds and the Great Barrier Reef, where they mate and breed in the warm waters. Humpback whales are playful, very powerful, yet often the most gentle creatures of the ocean. 

At Bright Point we are very very lucky...because we often get to see whales. Seeing them even just with the naked eye is possible....though binoculars make it easier & all of this from our own balconies. Of course the unique wrap around balcony with its unique 170 degree ocean view the Penthouse enjoys, makes it "the best seat in the house".
